DiSanto, Priest & Co. is pleased to offer electronic tax organizers and return delivery through SafeSend, providing our clients with a simple, easy-to-use process for securely completing and submitting their annual personal tax organizer, as well as reviewing and e-signing their tax documents.

SafeSend Organizer Process

  • You will receive an initial email at the email address that DiSanto, Priest & Co. has on file for you. The email will come from noreply@safesendreturns.com. The subject line will be “Please Review and Complete ((TAX YEAR )Tax Organizer)”. This email will contain a link to access your tax organizer Start Page.
  • After accessing the SafeSend Start Page and clicking “Get Started”, you will receive an Email Access Code. In order to receive the code, click “Request Access Code.” Once selected, a green banner will appear letting you know that your request has been received.
  • When you receive the Access Code by email, enter it in the code field and click “Continue.” If successful, the access code will bring you to the SafeSend Welcome Page where you can complete your Organizer and upload documents.

SafeSend Organizer FAQs

  • What is SafeSend Organizers? SafeSend Organizers automates the tax engagement by digitally sending a client organizer and a document request to DiSanto, Priest & Co. 1040 clients. This FAQ is designed to help answer some questions you may have about sending DiSanto, Priest & Co. your 1040 tax preparation materials and how you will be getting your return.
  • Is there a charge for using SafeSend? No. There is no additional charge for using SafeSend to organize your tax preparation materials.
  • How do I access SafeSend? You will receive an initial email at the email address DiSanto, Priest & Co. has on file for you. The email will come from “noreply@safesendreturns.com”. The subject line will be: “Please Review and Complete your Tax Organizer.” This email will contain a link to access your tax organizer Start Page. After accessing the SafeSend Start Page and clicking “Get Started”, you will receive an  Email Access Code. In order to receive the code, click “Request Access Code.” Once selected, a green banner will appear letting you know that your request has been received.   • How do I know if I am successfully connected to DiSanto, Priest & Co.? You should see the DiSanto, Priest & Co. logo both in the initial SafeSend email and in the top left of your screen in SafeSend.
  • Can I contact someone at DiSanto, Priest & Co. through SafeSend? Yes. In SafeSend, there is a “Contact Person” button at the top right of your screen allowing you to reach out to a specified contact at DiSanto, Priest & Co. about any questions you may have about your Organizer.
  • How do I navigate the SafeSend Organizer? You will be prompted to complete your Organizer on the SafeSend Welcome Page. You can use the Bookmarks Panel to move to a specific page. There are also navigation arrows to click through the Organizer pages or type a page number into the box to navigate to a specific page. Be sure to complete all pages of the Organizer if possible, using the fillable fields provided to enter your information. If your Organizer is sent to you and your spouse, edits made by each will be identified with color-coding so you can tell who made edits to the Organizer. If you need to exit the Organizer and return later, you can click “Save & Continue Later” to save your progress and return to the Welcome Page. Please note: if the Organizer was sent to both you and your spouse, please ensure that only one person is editing the Organizer at a time to confirm all edits are saved.
  • What are source documents? Certain pages of the Organizer will allow you to upload a corresponding source document to that page. If you do not see this section, you will not be able to upload source documents. In the Bookmark list, icons are added to pages that may require source documents.
  • Can I provide any notes to DiSanto, Priest & Co.? Each page of the Organizer has a Notes to Preparer feature where you can enter any notes that DiSanto, Priest & Co. will be able to review after submission.
  • How do I officially complete my SafeSend Organizer? If you are finished completing your Organizer, click “Finish.” You will receive a pop-up notification confirming if your Organizer is complete. Click “Review Missing Information” if you aren’t completed or click “Organizer Complete” if you are done. Please note: The pop-up notification is different if the Organizer was sent to both you and your spouse. It will include a “Send for Review” button if you would like to send to your spouse to review the Organizer or an “Organizer Complete” button if you are done with your Organizer.
  • Can I upload multiple documents? Yes. When clicking “Upload Documents” from the SafeSend Welcome Page, you have the option to upload any required documents.
  • What file formats does SafeSend support for uploading documents? SafeSend supports Word, PDF, Excel, PNG, and JPG files.
  • How do I ensure that all information and documents are sent to DiSanto, Priest & Co.? Once all tax source documents have been uploaded, click the “Notify Tax Professional” button to submit.

SafeSend Tax Return Process

  • You will receive an email from noreply@safesendreturns.com. The email will contain a link that is safe to click. You will need to provide the last 4 digits of your SSN and enter an Access Code that will be emailed to you in a separate email. 
  • You will gain access to your tax return where you can: 
    • Download it, review it, print it, etc. 
    • Electronically sign your e-file authorization forms. 
    • See if you owe taxes, are receiving any refunds and see your estimated tax payments (if applicable). 
  • The IRS requires us to ask you some personal questions to verify your identity, so please do not be alarmed by any personal questions.

SafeSend Tax Return FAQs

  • Will I receive a notification when my return is ready to sign? Yes. Email notifications will be sent from DiSanto, Priest & Co. at noreply@safesendreturns.com. To prevent the email from getting filtered to spam/junk, we recommend adding these email addresses to your safe list.
  • Is it safe to enter part of my Social Security Number? Yes. SafeSend Returns offers a secure system to view and sign your e-file authorization form(s). Look for https:// at the beginning of the site URL and a locked padlock symbol in your browser’s URL bar to confirm you are on the secure site.
  • What if I don’t receive an email with my access code? Check your spam/junk email folder. If you do not receive your code within the 20-minute time limit, please request another. You might also search your email for noreply@safesendreturns.com. Some emails hide junk items very well.
  • Where do the identity verification questions come from? What if I don’t remember the answers? The questions SafeSend Returns asks are knowledge-based questions pulled from government and credit sources. You may be asked questions such as where you lived in a given year, or when you bought your car or home. In the event the questions do not apply to you, simply choose the answer that accurately reflects this. If you don’t remember the answers to the questions, or you answer incorrectly, you won't be able to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s). You can instead print, sign and return your e-file authorization form(s) to DiSanto, Priest & Co.
  • Will this work on any internet-connected device? Does SafeSend Returns offer an app for my smartphone? This process can be completed on any computer, smart phone or tablet via a web browser. There is currently no SafeSend Returns app available.
  • Will I have the option to download and print my return to retain for my records? Yes. If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, you may not be able to download and print your return, but you'll be able to review and e-sign it. You can always download and print your return from a computer at a later date.
  • How is this process different from e-filing? SafeSend Returns allows you to electronically sign your e-file authorization form(s), but it won't submit your return to the IRS. Once signed, DiSanto, Priest & Co. is automatically notified, and we will then complete the filing process for you, including submission to the IRS.
  • My spouse and I file our return jointly. how can we both sign the e-file authorization form(s)? For spouses filing jointly, there are a few ways to sign via SafeSend Returns. If both spouses have an email address on file, both will receive an email with a link to view the return and sign the e-file authorization form(s). First, one spouse will receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s) and input the spouse’s email address, which will send an email link to the second spouse. The second spouse will answer identity verification questions specific to him or her and then sign the form(s). If only one spouse has an email address on file, that spouse will first receive the link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. He or she will sign the e-file authorization form(s) and then enter an email address for the second spouse. The second spouse will then receive the email link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. Once the second spouse electronically signs the e-file authorization form(s), DiSanto, Priest & Co. will be notified that signing is complete. If a couple shares an email address, the primary signer will first receive a link with identity verification questions specific to him/her. After the primary signer signs the e-file authorization form(s), he/she can then enter the shared email address again. A new link will be sent with identity verification questions specific to the second spouse.
  • Can I sign my dependent's return electronically? DiSanto, Priest & Co. will deliver your dependent’s return using SafeSend Returns. However, most dependents may not have sufficient government and financial data available to successfully complete the electronic signature process. Therefore, DiSanto, Priest & Co. will generally deliver those returns in a manner set up for manual signature. The intended forms will require you to return them through SafeSend Returns, via email at efile@disantopriest.com, or fax them back at 401-921-2010 to DiSanto, Priest & Co.
  • I’d rather print and sign my e-file authorization form(s). Can I do that? Yes - You can still print, sign and mail your e-file form(s) back to DiSanto, Priest & Co. if you’d prefer to do so.
  • After signing my e-file authorization form(s), will I receive confirmation that it was successfully submitted? Yes. Once you sign your e-file authorization form(s), you will receive an email stating it was successful. The email will also include a link to download a copy of your tax return for your records.
  • Can I set up reminders for my quarterly estimated payment? If estimated payments are included in your review copy, you will automatically receive an email reminder 7 days before your payment is due.
  • Will I have to print and mail anything to the government? The only items you may need to print and mail out to government authorities are the tax and estimate payment vouchers. You will also be provided options to make tax payments electronically if you prefer not to mail payments.
