DiSanto, Priest & Co., a public accounting firm recognized by Providence Business News as a Best Place to Work for 14 consecutive years, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional to join our firm’s Business Valuation, Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support practice. This critical role provides essential analytical, administrative, and document management support to our valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support professionals.

The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree in accounting and is comfortable working in a document-intensive, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who will ensure engagement files are accurate, consistent and complete, and is able to effectively and efficiently prepare comprehensive reports and manage extensive document inventories. While a paralegal certification is not required, familiarity with litigation processes and legal documentation is considered a strong advantage.

This is a full-time position based in the firm’s Warwick, RI office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Document Management and Inventory Control

  • Manage and maintain a detailed and accurate inventory of all documents created and produced in valuation, forensic, and litigation engagements, including financial records, discovery materials, exhibits, reports and correspondences.
  • Organize, label, index, and track documents in both electronic and hard-copy formats, ensuring version control, document integrity and confidentiality throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Track open items and outstanding document requests, follow up promptly to obtain missing information.
  • Assist with document productions, audit trails, and preparation of materials for court-related matters.

Report Review and Proofreading

  • Review draft reports, schedules, and supporting exhibits for accuracy, consistency, formatting, and internal coherence.
  • Proofread reports for typographical errors and grammatical errors, numerical consistency, and compliance with firm standards.
  • Cross-check financial data, tables, and references against source documents to identify discrepancies or omissions.

Accounting and Financial Support

  • Assist in organizing and summarizing financial statements, tax returns, general ledgers, and other accounting records.
  • Perform basic financial reconciliations and data validation under the supervision of valuation, forensic and litigation professionals.
  • Support the preparation of workpapers, schedules, Excel spreadsheets, and templates used in valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support engagements.
  • Research industry and economic data using internal resources and publicly available information.

Litigation and Engagement Support

  • Assist the team in managing deadlines, filings, and deliverables related to litigation and matrimonial matters.
  • Support the preparation of materials for depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure all required documentation is complete and accessible.

Technology and Administrative Support

  • Use the firm’s software and standard office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF tools, document management systems) to support engagement execution and deliverables.
  • Maintain well-organized electronic filing structures and contribute to workflow efficiencies and consistencies.
  • Learn and apply firm methodologies, processes, and professional standards.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients’ personnel and colleagues.
  • Perform additional administrative and paraprofessional tasks as needed to support the valuation and forensic team.
  • Work with the team to review current processes and assist in developing improved procedures to support efficiency and accuracy of engagement.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience Required

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field required.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial records.
  • 3+ years’ prior experience in professional services (business valuation, accounting, forensic accounting, litigation support, or law firm) preferred, matrimonial experience a plus.
  • Paralegal certification is not required but an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of documents with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to proofread and quality-control skills, including reviewing complex reports and financial schedules.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with PDF and document management systems preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to learn firm-specific software and processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal business hours and to travel when necessary.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical, professional, and chain-of-custody standards when handling sensitive financial, personal, and legal information.
