EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

We offer some of the industry's most competitive salaries and benefits, as follows:

MEDICAL/DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS
Our Firm has excellent group medical and dental coverage through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Rhode Island and Delta Dental, respectively. The Firm contributes $4,000 towards the cost of medical insurance premiums. Healthcare expenses in excess of $4,000 are your responsibility and may be deducted from your pay, along with dental insurance premiums, on a pre-tax basis.

SECTION 125 FLEXIBLE SPENDING PLAN

The Firm offers a Section 125 Flexible Spending Plan which is a plan designed to allow the reimbursement of out-of-pocket medical and dependent care expenses from income withheld on a pre-tax basis. The eligibility period for this plan is the same as the Firm’s Medical/Dental Insurance Plans. You would estimate how much money you typically spend on out-of-pocket medical and/or dependent care expenses. That amount is then withheld, as a payroll deduction, from your gross pay. The amount you decide to withhold is not considered current taxable income and therefore does not appear on your W-2 form as taxable income. You would then receive a debit card (MasterCard®) that may be used at the point of service. If the provider does not accept MasterCard®, you would pay for the service and then file a claim for reimbursement.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY AND LIFE INSURANCE

The Firm provides a long-term disability plan, which takes effect ninety days (90) after disability commences and pays 60 percent of your income, up to a maximum of $9,000 per month. Long-term disability coverage is effective on the first day of the month following full-time active employment for 30 days. The cost is paid entirely by the Firm.

The Firm also provides a group term life insurance policy sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The benefit amount of this insurance is equal to approximately three times your annual base salary. There is no waiting period for this coverage. All employees become eligible for this life insurance once their application is approved by the AICPA and the employee is notified. The cost for this insurance is paid entirely by the Firm.

401(k) PLAN AND PROFIT-SHARING PLAN

The Firm offers a 401(k) plan that allows you to contribute on either a pre-tax or post-tax (Roth 401(k)) basis. Entry into the 401(k) plan is on the first of the calendar-year quarter following one year of service. Employees are eligible to contribute up to the maximum allowed by IRS regulations. The Firm matching contribution will be 100 percent of the first 3 percent of compensation plus 50 percent of the next 2 percent of compensation that you contribute to the plan. Your deferrals and the company matching contribution is 100 percent vested at all times.

VACATION AND SICK LEAVE

Vacation and sick leave is accrued ratably over the calendar year. Vacation allowance is determined by employment classification and/or length of employment with the Firm.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (CPE)

Our Firm requires that all professional employees obtain 40 hours annually of continuing professional education (“CPE”). Accordingly, we provide you the opportunity to obtain 40 hours of CPE credit through a variety of professional training.

For CPA-candidates needing to satisfy the additional 30-hour rule, we will provide tuition reimbursement for the cost of two (2) Masters’ courses per calendar year. In the event you elect to accelerate the completion of a Masters’ program and undertake more than two courses per year, we will defer reimbursement for those additional courses so that you will be reimbursed for two (2) courses per year over a five (5) year period. Reimbursement also includes the cost of course materials. In addition, the Firm will cover the registration fee associated with sitting for one complete CPA exam.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP FEES

The Firm pays membership dues to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the applicable state societies of Certified Public Accountants (RICPAS). Additionally, the Firm pays licensing fees to the applicable state board of accountancy.
